By accessing and using Goril you confirm that you are in agreement with and bound by the terms and conditions contained in the Terms Of Service outlined below. If you do not agree to our Privacy Policy and the other terms stated below, please do not use our services. These terms apply to the entire website. Goril is bound by the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Goril is maintained by Tilkee, Lyon (France). We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy and other terms stated below at any time. If changes occur, we will clearly indicate such alterations at the top of this page with the date of modification.

Allowed Usage

Goril is meant for sharing self-owned documents. Any further use of Goril must be agreed upon. In particular it is not allowed to upload the documents that:

  • are insulting, derogatory, racist, sexist, xenophobic, revisionist, defamatory or that compromise the integrity, honour, reputation of any person or entity,
  • contain pornographic or pedophile images or texts,
  • compromise private or public interests or reputation of any person or entity,
  • affect public order,
  • infringe the rights of one or several third parties, such as intellectual property rights (copyright) or industrial property rights (trademarks and designs, patents…),
  • advocate or incite to hatred, to committing an offence or crime, or incite to suicide or self-harm,
  • preach hatred, war crimes, crimes against humanity, or acts of terrorism,
  • breach confidentiality of correspondence, professional secret, or confidentiality of investigations,

Goril reserves the right to delete documents that violate Terms of Service and to suspend or cancel the corresponding account.

Responsibility for Data

While we try to ensure that the service is error free, we cannot guarantee that your files will not be damaged, deleted or lost. You acknowledge that you have a copy of all files and Goril will not be held responsible for any damage caused to files hosted on Goril.

Copyright Policy

Goril does not grant any rights to the shared files, as it only acts as a technical service provider.

You are the only responsible party for the files which you upload to the Goril service. Please be reminded that the illicit exchanges of protected works as well as hacking harm artistic creation. Please be also reminded that the non-respect of the laws in force, in particular those concerning the respect of:

  • Copyright (intellectual property rights),
  • Image rights of the persons on animage,
  • Image rights of artistic creations (such as but not limited to paintings, sculptures, pictures, furniture, decorative items etc.) featuring on the image and protected by an intellectual property right if they are the principal subject of the image,
  • Trademark, design and patent law.

will result in the immediate suspension or cancellation of the corresponding account.

Please be reminded that Goril has to provide your personal data (e.g. your IP address or email address) to authorities when required by law.

Personal Data Collected

By visiting our website, your IP address will be logged along with the HTTP referer, user agent and the dates of access (log data).

If you decide to create a Goril link, we will collect your email address and store your file for 30 days.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the mail.
When you click on a Goril link, we don’t store any personal data, but we keep a trace of your traffic metrics.

Uploaded Documents

In the course of providing the service, your files are transferred to and from the servers of Goril. We do not read, look into or mine any data from your files or its metadata. We do not make any copies of it. All file processing is done by machine and there is no human interaction with your files. Your files are deleted from our servers after the retention period.

Personal Data and Information

We do log your IP address to prevent abuse of our service and for broad demographic analysis. We do not link this information to any personally identifiable information. If you provide an email address we use it to communicate with you. We will not, under any circumstances whatsoever, give out or sell your documents or personal data to anyone. Only the persons in possession of your Goril link may view your files. We will keep your personal data for as long as it is necessary to provide you with our services. If you subscribe to our newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the mail. Your documents and all the data related to your documents are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Security

We are committed to protect your personal data and your files. Goril uses the SSL/TLS protocol (Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security) to secure data while being transferred from Goril to the servers. Amazon Web Services ensure data and files storage through their S3 service, OVH is used for the website hosting and Mailjet as email sender. All Goril servers are located in the European Union.

Cookies

Goril stores so-called “cookies” in order to be able to offer you a comprehensive range of functions and to make it easier to use our websites. “Cookies” are small files which are stored on your computer with the help of the internet browser. You can refuse the use of “cookies” if you wish. In this case, browsing on the Website may be less fluid.

We use HubSpot for our online marketing activities and various aspects of our online marketing. We use Google Analytics to store information about how visitors use our website so that we may make improvements and give visitors a better user experience. Google Analytics is a third-party information storage system by Google that records information about the pages you visit, the length of time you were on specific pages and the website in general, how you arrived at the site and what you clicked on. You can opt out of the usage of Google Analytics on this and all other websites using a browser plugin. We use Google reCAPTCHA solution for preventing spam requests on our public contact forms. reCAPTCHA is used to check whether the data entered on our website has been entered by a human or by an automated program. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website visitor accept the cookies. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, how long the visitor has been on the website, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis will be forwarded to Google. The reCAPTCHA analyses take place entirely in the background. Website visitors are not advised that such an analysis is taking place. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its site from abusive automated crawling and spam.
